I started Finlittle because I want every child to understand that money is just a tool—it has nothing to do with their self-worth, and everything to do with their values, goals, and the kind of impact they want to have in the world.
I also realized that most grown-ups don’t feel equipped with engaging, practical ways to teach this. And the broader narrative around money often leans toward fear, shame, scarcity, and comparison.
I want to help shift that—to something rooted in confidence, clarity, and hope.
As Finlittle grows, I’m committed to directing a meaningful portion of profits (my goal is 100% of net profits) toward initiatives that support children and families in building financial confidence and independence.

I actually see it the opposite way—I think not talking about money is what holds kids back.
Money touches so many parts of life, and if we don’t talk about it, kids are left to figure it out on their own.
This isn’t about raising kids to chase money.
It’s about helping them understand how to use it—in line with their values, their goals, and the life they want to build.

Honestly, it’s never too early—and it’s never too late.
You don’t need a perfect script. Just start where you and your kid(s) are today.
We know that kids begin forming their earliest money habits and beliefs between about ages 3 to 9. So when your child asks a question about money, lean in. Those moments are opportunities to build connection, confidence, and curiosity.
And anytime they earn, find, or receive money—use that too. Those real-life moments are some of the best teachers.

First—just asking this question is a great place to start.
We’re actually entering a bit of a golden age when it comes to personal finance—there are more accessible tools and resources than ever before, not just for the ultra-wealthy.
If you’re looking to build your confidence, here are a few places to start:
Check if your workplace offers access to a financial coach, counselor, or even therapist—these benefits are more common than people realize.
See what your bank or brokerage provides—many offer free coaching or built-in tools to help you get a clearer picture of your finances.
If you want more personalized support, look for a credentialed professional (CFP, AFC, financial therapist) who aligns with your needs and values.
And if you want something ongoing and a bit more approachable, I share practical, real-life guidance through Wealth with Heart and my weekly Finlittle newsletter 💚
The goal isn’t to master everything overnight—it’s to take small steps and build confidence over time.
