About

Hi there, I’m Caryn!

I’m a Mom, Engineer, and finlit-curious millennial. On that last note, I’m so curious I started this company and am a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI), Certified Financial Literacy Professional (CFLP), and Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) Candidate. I have an engineering background (Stanford & Augsburg) and have spent 15 years working across tech, consulting, and government.

I created Finlittle to help parents and kids build a healthier relationship with money—together.

The early years matter so much, we know this. Amongst many key foundational aspects, it’s when kids start forming their first money memories, habits, and beliefs—often without us even realizing it. At the same time, they’re already being shaped by the world around them.

For me, this is super personal. I didn’t feel confident with money until much later in life, and I wish I’d grown up in an environment where money was talked about openly—without shame, confusion, or guilt. As a kid, as a teen, as a young adult, as a 40 year old… you get the picture.

Now as a parent, I see how much kids pick up from us—not just what we say, but how we feel. The pauses, the discomfort, the silence. Especially for our daughters, that matters!

Finlittle grew out of my own journey: learning how to manage debt, invest, plan for the future, and build a healthy financial life—while also figuring out how to model that for my daughter in real time. I used to shut down in fear and anxiety about money, and now I look for opportunities to grow it, learn more about it and share what I learn along the way.

What I’ve found is this:

Money isn’t just something we learn—it’s something we live.

Through small, everyday moments, we can help kids build:

  • confidence in making decisions

  • comfort talking about money

  • clarity on what money can and can’t do

Not perfectly— consistently. That’s what Finlittle is about.

Helping kids and the whole village raising them build real-life money habits rooted in values, goals, and connection.

I believe it’s never too early—and never too late—to start. I’d be honored to be part of your family’s journey.

Cheers,
Caryn
